What to wear in our European winter?

What to wear to beat the weather? Here is our option. We are wearing every item here today in -4c and snowy. We are nothing but super toasty, comfortable and not sweating heaps under awful thick layers that don't work.

Beanie - Helly Hansen beanie, but any of our headwear will work! Our Helly beanie in merino is a winner!

Outer Shell Jacket - perfect to take wind, rain and snow but with superb thermal insulation from Mascot. The fabric is super tough and literally can't tear or rip.

Midlayer - we have worn pretty much every item on our site (it is our obsession), the Helly Hansen 1/4 Zip Wool top is super, super toasty!

Baselayers - again, we can testify for all our baselayers. Merino, Life work great from Helly Hansen. If you want really tight fitting, but exceptionally warm but hugely breathable, go for the Snickers Wool Seamless range.

Trousers - if you are needing thermal insulation and waterproofing for the sleet and snow, we recommend the Helly Aker Pant - extremely lightweight but gives you ultimate weather protection. However by layering up, we have got away with normal light walking trousers coupled with our Snickers long johns. A perfect Carhartt option is the fleece lined combat trouser coming in two colours and so warm it's unreal! Ideal for weather where it's not too wet, but you need the warmth.

Snickers have an excellent choice option going up to Gore fabrics. These trousers are made from their waterproof and breathable Schoeller® softshell 4-way stretch fabric, where you have waterproof and breathable material from the knee down.

Socks - there are certain people at MI, obsessed by socks. So the Oxford Winter Sock is a belter. Super warm, breathable and comes up mid calf to give you maximum warmth.

Boots - our most popular boot of the past five years is the Helly Hansen Magni Winter Boot - outstanding thermal production, tough as boots, BOA lace system. It will smash through any weather you get. And currently £99 off!

Gloves - plenty of super warm winter gloves in our range here - we are currently wearing the Snickers All Weather Glove - perfect!
